Mushers participating in the scheduled "100 Mile Challenge" this weekend will do so on a shortened course of about 50 miles. Registration was slow for the event as mushers expressed concern for racing their dogs 100 miles on icy trails.
Further details will be announced tomorrow afternoon but at this time we expect the race will begin near the mouth of the Gweek River at 11:00 AM on Saturday.
