Dakota Schlosser left Aniak at 7:53 pm tonight with 10 dogs, leaving Jim Lanier alone in Aniak. Jim left Aniak a short while later at 8:40 pm. The Aniak Checkpoint is now occupied by the true stars of mushing: the dogs!
We have 27 dropped dogs in Aniak being cared for by our awesome volunteers while they wait for their airplane flight to Bethel tomorrow. Thanks to Yute Commuter Service and Renfro's Alaskan Adventures for helping transport dropped dogs back to Bethel!
