Akiak Dash Preview

The 2024 Akiak Dash begins Saturday at 12 Noon with a mass start at the K300 Start/Finish Line in Bethel. 14 teams will compete for a total purse of $40,000 in the 60 mile race to Akiak and back.
Racers will follow the K300 trail up the Kuskokwim then the Gweek but Dash mushers will split off the K300 trail at the Akiachak portage trail, roughly 12 miles from the start. From Akiachak they will stay on the river to Akiak, looping around the big island below the village and they will then return to Bethel on the same trail.
