Akiak Dash Registration Opens and BC150 Rescheduled

The 2026 Akiak Dash will begin with a mass start on the Kuskokwim River on Saturday, January 24 at 12:00 PM. Registration is required and must be submitted by Noon on Thursday, January 22. Mushers must attend the pre-race meeting on Thursday, January 22 at 4:00 PM at K300 Race Headquarters (The Longhouse Hotel Conference Room).
A purse of $50,000 will be paid to the top 15 finishers. Purse Breakdown here.
All mushers must begin the race with no more than 8 dogs and no less than 5 dogs. As in recent years, there will be no layover and therefore, no dropped dogs are permitted. All racers must carry a sleeping bag and an axe for the duration of the race and begin the race with four booties for every dog. Trail details will be announced at the musher meeting on Thursday.
