Season Opener Recap

It's difficult to imagine a more perfect day for racing on the YK Delta. Temperatures hovered in the singled digits with barely a breeze blowing while the sun blazed as mushers traveled 32 miles over an excellent tundra trail to Atmautluak and back.

Mike Williams Jr kicked off the new racing season with a win, edging out Spyridon Chaney (racing for Larson Kennel) and Michael Larson (racing for the Alexie Racing Kennel). For the win Williams takes home $3200 and earned 10 points in the Delta Championship Series, our season long competition. Please see the full race results below.

We plan to host the Holiday Classic, which is typically a 50-miler, next Saturday, December 20th. Registration and trail details will be announced next week.
