2026 Bogus Creek 150 Preview

11 teams are poised to face-off in the 38th Annual Bogus Creek 150 which will start at 5:00 PM tomorrow, February 14th. They are competing for a total purse of $100,000. Defending Bogus Creek 150 Champion Mike Williams Jr. will attempt to defend his title against a field that includes past champions Pete Kaiser, Lewis Pavila, Herman Phillip and Maurice Andrews as well as 2026 Akiak Dash champ Michael Larson.

Racers will run the route followed by 2025 K300 racers, traveling upriver from Bethel on the Kuskokwim, then continuing up the Gweek River. About 20 miles from the start, the trail leaves the Gweek for the overland route towards Tuluksak. Racers will then follow the traditional Bogus route, up the Tuluksak River, then Little Bogus Creek and Big Bogus Creek until they reach the halfway point, the Bogus Creek Checkpoint, where they will take a mandatory 4 hour rest before returning home on the same trail.

The race will begin with a mass start on the Kuskokwim River in Bethel above the mouth of the small boat harbor. Spectators, we hope to see you in person but if you plan to come to the start please consider coming by snow machine for the best view - truck access will be limited. If you can't make it there are other ways to follow the race...
